One of the easiest places to find a suitable disability lawyer is your phonebook. The Yellow Pages will often have listings for any lawyers specializing in discrimination lawsuits that are in your area.

It is advisable, if you are pursuing a disability lawsuit, to contact a local lawyer so you can meet and discuss your case. If you do not have access to a phone book, or if you live in a larger metropolitan area, you can always search on the internet.

There are many disability lawyers and advocates in almost any major city; most reputable law services now have websites for you to view information.

As with any legal proceeding, finding the right lawyer for your disability suit is important. Although there are many legitimate lawyers who will help you to the best of their ability, there are still many charlatans out there who will not give you adequate legal representation and charge outrageous fees.

You will want to spend the time researching both the cost and the case history of any lawyer you plan on hiring for help with your discrimination suit. Due to the Americans with Disabilities Act, there are many agencies available in every state that are out to assist with any disability discrimination issues-they can point you towards a good lawyer for your case.

Another important thing to keep in mind is, if your disability case goes to trial and is ruled in your favor, Federal law mandates that the cost of your legal fees will be covered. In other words, in a successful ruling, you should not be obligated to pay your lawyer any more than what has been awarded to you to pay the legal fees.
