How To Set Up The Correct Cover Letter Format

 

While writing a cover letter, it is very important that you should put extra focus over its format, and this is because if the cover letter format isn’t correct or is mismanaged than you are surely not going to impress the reader that much. The steps include:

Insert your and the employer’s contact information

Your cover letter will begin with your own and the employer’s contact information. However, it is really not important that you should write the employer’s contact information as well, but if you d have it along your side than write it down!

Greetings

Begin your cover letter with proper greetings/salutations. Begin it with Dear Mr. / Ms etc. however, if you don’t know the name of the person than just write down the post of a person writing to or just leave that space blank.

First Paragraph

In the first paragraph of your cover letter you should acknowledge the reader that why you are writing this letter and for what position you are applying for. Besides that, you also need to mention that from where you were able to find the information over the job openings / listings of the company. This paragraph should be brief and to the point.

Second Paragraph

In the second paragraph of your cover letter you need to tell the employer about your previous job experience as well as your qualifications. You need to make sure that you are not repeating exactly same words as of your resume, as it has already been overviewed and they are not interested in reading that exact information again.

Last Paragraph

In the last paragraph conclude your cover letter and show gratitude to the employer.

Complimentary closure with Signature

Now all you have to do is to give a complementary closure like “Yours Respectfully” followed by your signature, and at the end of your signature also write your name as well!
This is known to be the correct method for writing a cover letter when applying for a job with any company.
